Right CLICK on the folder
Many years ago whilst supporting both DOS and Windows 95 we used to run
into space problems all the time. Typically we needed to have users
delete some stuff before we could install Win95 or whatever else. We
always gave the standard "we are not responsible for any lost
data...blah blah blah" speech and then went off deleting folders until
there was enough room.
One day we received a call
from a lady who needed to make some space to install MS Word. She had very
little room left but claimed she rarely used any of the pre-installed
software on the box. We get to Explorer and she identifies Quicken for immediate
deletion.
She asks "how much will this free up?". I inform her to right
click on the folder and a menu will appear, the last choice will be
"Properties". Darn, didn't work.
OK, so I'm confused,
so I ask her "Are you left handed?". "No" she replies, hmmm..."do you
have a two-button mouse"? - "yes" she replies.
OK well then lets try it
again, and then again, still no properties selection on the menu, what
the hell is going on here, this should be working?
So I ask her again,
"will you Right click on the folder one more time". She replies "I have
Written 'click' on this folder three times, I don't see how this will
affect the computer!"
Fortunately she had a sense of humour
for I laughed quite loudly for quite a few seconds. Once I regained my
composure we got through the call.
